Copper on the Fly
Nestled on a ridge overlooking the spectacular views at the mouth of the Copper River as it flows into Alaska’s largest Lake, Iliamna, sits Copper on the Fly. Copper on the Fly is a small, intimate fishing lodge hosting up to 6 guests at a time from June through September. The Copper River is a fly fishing river only with world class rainbow trout throughout the season and fresh sockeye salmon in the month of July.
The location of Copper on the Fly is the best in the area providing gorgeous views of the Alaskan wilderness and wildlife, spectacular sunsets and phenomenal fishing just a short boat ride up the Copper River.
Copper on the Fly was established in 2001 by long time friends and fishing buddies, Steve Munroe and Sean Bradley. Along with a lot of help from family and many friends, Steve and Sean have spent the last 14 years building the lodge. Now that both are retired from their day jobs, the avid fishermen are living the dream!
Together with their team, they guide and take great care of lodge guests to ensure they make great memories and enjoy their Alaska fishing adventure!
Steve MunroeCo-owner and Guide
Steve Munroe came to Alaska with Dena in 1982. A great friend introduced Steve to fishing in Alaska almost immediately after and he has loved it ever since. Like the rest of the team he is guide, builder, bottle washer and loves to help people fish. Together with Sean they created the vision and layout of the lodge. Retiring in 2014, the hope is to continue to build a fun and hospitable lodge.
